Copenhagen with kids: calm, green, and easy
We visited Copenhagen as a family and were surprised by how easy everything felt. The city is clean, safe, and incredibly kid-friendly, with wide sidewalks, bike lanes everywhere, and parks woven into daily life. Getting around was simple, and the mix of culture, play spaces, and cozy cafés made it enjoyable for both adults and kids.
What We Loved
- Getting around by bike - even with kids, cycling felt safe and natural, and the city is built for it
- Parks and playgrounds everywhere - easy breaks between sightseeing where the kids could just be kids
- Relaxed cafés and bakeries - places where children were genuinely welcome, not tolerated
- Family-friendly attractions - museums and sights that didn't feel overwhelming or tiring
- A calm, organized rhythm - everything felt easy, from public transport to finding food and rest
